Description

Level two for day sailing yachts with inboard diesel engines.

Overview:
This course introduces the intermediate sailor to the cruising yacht and offshore sailing procedures. Curriculum includes mechanical and electrical systems, weather navigation, anchoring, reefing, heavy weather sailing, rules of the road, motoring skills, safety and emergency procedures, maneuvering under power, and VHF radio procedures.

Goal:
Qualified to rent 30’ + sailboats with inboard engine for local water day sailing.

A.S.A. Certification Level:
Basic Coastal Cruising (BCC) A.S.A 103

Prerequisite:
ASA 101 – Basic Keelboat Sailing.

Please Note:
We will find all of your partner(s) for all group classes.

If you have not completed the required reading before your arrival, or are not a valid candidate to test out of a given level, we may have to alter your program’s formula. In any case, our goal is to provide the best instruction possible, even if we have to adapt a new game plan.
